NFL Foundation Awards $5,000 Social Justice Grant to Allen Robinson’s Within Reach Foundation

The Within Reach Foundation closed out 2019 on a high note, receiving
a $5,000 grant from the NFL Foundation through its social justice grant
directive. The grant, which was awarded on December 16th, will assist
Robinson in furthering his mission of providing educational opportunities and
resources to inner-city Chicago students.

The NFL Foundation’s social justice grant program provides
grant funding to nonprofit organizations whose missions are focused around
social justice causes and have been financially supported by an NFL player.
According to the NFL Foundation’s website, the grants are designed to reduce
barriers to opportunity through a focus on education, criminal justice reform,
poverty, racial equality, and many other causes.

The Within Reach Foundation will utilize the $5,000 grant in
support of Robinson’s Reach for a Book reading rooms, which are installed
within inner-city Boys & Girls Clubs and elementary schools. The foundation
also received a $5,000 grant in 2018 – the year the NFL Foundation inaugurated
its social justice grant program.

Robinson enjoyed a strong second year in Chicago, pacing the
team in receptions (98), receiving yards (1,147) and touchdowns (7). His 98
receptions finished fourth in the NFC’s leaderboards. In addition to his on-field
accolades, Robinson was also selected as the Bears’ team nominee for the Walter
Payton Man of the Year Award – an indication of the impact he is achieving in
the community.
